How to Combine Images Into One PDF

If you need to combine images into one PDF, stitch pictures together or merge photos for printing or production, we’ve got two simple solutions. Upload JPEG, PNG or PDF images with the simple drag and drop UI. Click to rearrange or duplicate them and then with the click of a button you combine them.

The Two Easy Methods For Combining Images

We’ve got two methods for combining images. One is the collate tool that is a simple drag and drop tool that will combine images into a multi page document, each image being its own page. The collate tool will not adjust the size or aspect ratio, it simply combines images and creates a multi page PDF of them. You can click to duplicate an image and click and drag to rearrange the order. It’s ridiculously easy to use. If you aren’t familiar with what collating is, click that link.

The second method is just as user friendly however you have way more control over the size and way the images are combined. This is using the merge tool. Detailed instructions for the merge tool can be found here.

When using the merge tool you use a template and the images are combined based upon the format of the template. For example, say you want to merge 2 5”x7” photos on a standard 8.5”x11” page. You would create a template that is 8.5”x11” and set the margins at 1.75”. Save the template, upload your photos to it and that’s it.

The merge tool is also extremely helpful if you do any kind of repetitive work combining images. For example you have a product line where you consistently  have a workflow of combining images daily for print or production. Setting up templates for different image combining jobs can be a huge time saver.

Combine Images Into A PDF On A PC or A Mac

The output of File Splice is PDF so by default all the images you combine are converted to PDF. When using the merge tool you also have the option to download your combined images in a compressed version. The uncompressed file is the raw files however the compressed file we process with a light lossless compression. That way it will retain the resolution of the file while lowering its size making it easier to email or transfer if needed.

Another thing to note is that File Splice is software that resides in the cloud. You can work on any device from anywhere you can get online to combine images. Use a Mac, PC, or any type of tablet, there is no software to download or maintain.
