The Avery 5164 is a popular size for creating large shipping labels. The size of the 5164 labels are 3.33” tall by 4” wide. This size is also popular for labeling bottles, jars and cans. Just keep in mind the material you buy in stores is coated paper and they won’t hold up to the elements well if you are using these for food or beverage labels that will be going in a cooler of freezer
5164 Label Dimensions and Page Layout Information
5164 size labels are generally printed on standard 8.5”x11” letter size paper but you could build a template with a larger page size if you need to within the File Splice system. They are printed 6 labels to a sheet with a .5” margin on the page top and bottom and .16” margins one each side. The spacing between the two columns of labels is .18”. Avery doesn’t account for any extra label bleed with the 5164 so the label bleed is 0”.
If you’re looking to print a sheet or two of these for address labels or something else it’s fairly easy to do from any word processing software such as Word or Google Sheets. However, if you’re looking to print dozens, hundreds or even thousands of the 5164 with various designs and quantities you’re going to need something a bit more robust than Google Sheets.
